Where nothing is asked of you.

The Nest is a cozy off-grid cabin tucked into more than 6,000 acres of Roxbury State Forest in central Vermont. It’s designed for people who want to unplug, slow down, and immerse themselves in nature without giving up every comfort.
While completely off-grid, The Nest offers a thoughtful balance of simplicity and convenience. The cabin features solar-powered lighting and electrical outlets for charging small devices, a one-burner propane stove, a small refrigerator and a kitchen sink with running water for washing dishes and basic cleanup. Outside, a fire pit invites you to cook over an open flame and spend your evenings beneath some of Vermont’s darkest, star-filled skies.
A separate bathhouse includes a flush toilet, hand washing station and an outdoor hot-water shower, giving you the comforts you need while keeping you connected to the outdoors.
One thing to know before you arrive: there is no cell service at The Nest. For many guests, that’s the best part. The constant notifications disappear, replaced by birdsong, rustling leaves, and the gentle sound of Bull Run Creek.
Step outside your door and you’re surrounded by miles of forest trails, abundant wildlife, and exceptional birdwatching. Whether you’re hiking, mountain biking, adventure motorcycling, or simply relaxing beside Beaver Pond, nature is always just outside the cabin.
Although it feels wonderfully remote, you’re only about 25 minutes from Waitsfield, Warren, and Randolph, where you’ll find excellent restaurants, breweries, local shops, farmers markets, and everything you need before returning to the quiet of the forest.
The Nest isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a chance to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the natural one.

Five years ago, we discovered what happens when you step off the grid and just... breathe. It changed us. And we wanted to share that.
The Nest is our way of offering what the woods gave us ~ stillness, space, and the kind of rest that only comes when the noise finally stops.
Six thousand acres of Vermont state forest around you will do that.
We Promise.
